I know, I know - too expensive. Well worth it. You are not only getting top-of-the-line Windows programming languages like Visual Basic, Visual C++, nice Internet development tool in Visual InterDev, but Microsoft bundled it with almost everything, except maybe Billy G. diaries. To name few: SQL server (both of them - 6.5 and 7.0), IIS, FrontPage, BackOffice, Visual SourceSafe, complete MSDN library.

This one is a cheap alternative to Enterprise edition. Nice little thing for beginners.

Great database. Tons of functionality, nice perfomance. Another big plus - it's a Microsoft product, which means most complete integration with Visual Studio (read Visual Basic). The best price-to-value ratio in database world.

The best HTML editor on the market. Gotta love its HTML tag auto-complete feature and almoust unlimited undo.
