Running the VB SMTP Component as downloaded.
Using Authenticated SMTP service from my ISP, which works ok with Thunderbird.
When using Ostrosoft SMTP, status log reads:
    Connecting to SMTP server
    Connected to SMTP server
    220-supanetwork.co.uk ESMTP
    220-MagicMail Daemon with Built-In Anti-Spam
    220 See http://www.linuxmagic.com for info
    250-supanetwork.co.uk
    250-AUTH LOGIN
    250-AUTH=LOGIN
    250-PIPELINING
    250 8BITMIME
    221 supanetwork.co.uk
Then nothing. No further response, and I have to go into Task Manager to close the application.
Any thoughts?

Your mailserver has pretty unusual configuration

I tried to connect to it via telnet and got nothing in response to EHLO command. Normally you would get the list of authentication schemes, supported by mailserver. On top of it, it's configured with really short timeout - if I don't issue command within 2-3 seconds, your mailserver drops the connection.

No wonder SMTP Component gets confused
