Hi there,

I've found a problem which occurs when the POP3 component reads an HTML-formatted message with attachment(s). What happens is, the component detects the attachments fine, but returns the entire message (with all of the muti-parts in one go) as the "body", and returns an empty string as the HTML body.

(Messages in HTML format without attachments, or with attachments but in plain text, are all handled fine.)

Is this a "known issue"? Or am I doing something daft? The HTML message with attachments that I'm testing with was generated by Outlook Express so I'm presuming it's well-formed... and I can send a sample on request.

I originally posted this problem in the SMTP forum on Dec 11, as at first I thought there was a problem with the SMTP component. However, I soon realised that the problem was actually with the POP3 component, so I'm reposting it here.

I have yet not received any replies to my original post so would greatly appreciate any replies here. (And please cc me at david [at] lovelightpromotions [dot] com. ) Many thanks!

David

The problem indeed is with POP3 Component. We are currently working on a fix. It should be ready by next maintenance release

Hi igor,
I like your 2 mail components.
But when do you plan to fix the Attachement/HTML problem of the pop3 component ?
Best regards,
jjd

currently, SSL support in SMTP/POP3 components is a top priority

OSPOP3 attachment fix is next in the list
