My name is Igor Ostrovsky and I am Director of Technology at OstroSoft.
I am also company President, lead programmer, mailroom clerk, customer support specialist, sales representative and so on.
Occasionally I get some help from my friends (thanks Frank!), but technically speaking - I am OstroSoft.
Back in 1996, while working for Bigfoot (Internet company, not the misterious creature), I encountered a slight problem - there were no decent network information utilities available for Windows. So I started porting UNIX utilities to Windows. Later that year I had enough of them to put together as OstroSoft Internet Tools.
Software became quite popular and within the next 6 years I released a few more versions of it, each offering more functionality and better Windows integration than the previous one.
Then I wrote FormoEd - a handy little utility for auto-filling repetitive electronic forms. Maybe I got tired of filling them manually or just got lazy, but in any case FormoEd became useful for lots of people out there.
Most of the improvements and new functionality was based on feedback I was getting from users.
Over the years I kept adding functionality to it (special thanks to Dan Lundqvist, Nathan Fritsche, Mark Fonseca and many others for valuable suggestions), and now OSSMTP covers pretty much everything from message part encryption to mailserver authentication.
Later I designed and released few more COM components - POP3 Component (OSPOP3), OSWinsock and ICMP Component. And that pretty much completes OstroSoft's product lineup.
I am doing my best to support and enhance existing OstroSoft software and to design exciting new stuff you will see on this website pretty soon.
As always, your feedback is extremely important to me. Don't be shy - use the contact form and support forums (spam is not welcome, though). Don't forget to bookmark the OstroSoft website :)
